Happy February. January did seem to drag on for a while there, especially the colder days.
So something I started looking into at the end of last year was SMS marketing. It seems like most websites I go to now ask to allow SMS marketing immediately after you provide your email address. Most of the time I opt out of that. I prefer to stick with emails because I don’t have my phone setup to alert or post badges for emails - and I get a lot of marketing emails each day.
That being said, I often wonder what peoples’ preferences really are. Do you sign up for texts? Do you prefer them or interact with them?
I have been thinking about it and have spoken with some SMS Marketing companies. Unfortunately, as with everything in the online cigar retail word, it is not as simple as it is for other industries. Age restricted items have to jump through a few hoops to be able to contact people via text. This is the primary reason I haven’t even tried it out yet because the companies that are willing to help someone in the “high-risk” realm are a little pricier.
I have some good ideas, at least I do, that I wanted to do with SMS Marketing, but I am going to have to wait a bit and figure out a way to really gauge interest in it.
As for today’s smoke, I had a La Barba Purple Robusto this morning while I did some work in the garage. I am a fan of La Barba’s stuff and I think the Purple is (was) my favorite. There is something unique in the profile I can’t quite put to words. Anyhow, it will certainly be missed..
Take care,
