Good morning,
First off, thank you to those that participated in last week’s Blog Post Giveaway! The winner has been randomly selected and notified.
Secondly, this morning I lit up an HVC Hot Cakes Maduro. I have been burning through these HVCs I recently got in stock and I’ve been loving it. This Hot Cakes Maduro was no exception!
I smoked it while I was working in the shop. I am nearing the end of this current guitar build. All that’s left is wiring and setup! I haven’t fully decided what I am doing with this build. At first I had all intentions of trying to sell it, but as it was an experiment with various firsts for me, part of me is thinking about keeping it for myself for a couple reasons.
- It isn’t “perfect” and I am so self conscious with my work that I can hardly bear putting something in someone’s hands that isn’t perfect. Which means I would literally never sell a guitar because nothing is ever perfect. Ever.
- The only guitar build I personally have was the first guitar I ever built, which I only built the body from scratch - the neck was bought then assembled and set up by me. It is a simple, classic Telecaster build, with some quirks. I do love the way it plays, but part of me thinks I should have a more intricate, fancier build of my own.
All that being said, I am not one for collecting. I don’t really need another guitar and if I sell it, I could use that money for some things that would really help me in the shop. So we’ll see.
Anyway, that is one of my current projects. Some other notable projects going on around here are: putting new tin siding around the barn - we are about ⅔ of the way done with that one, and remodeling our bathroom - we are making some progress but have plenty left to do on that one.
Do you have any projects going on? How’re they coming along?
