Rambling Session - Burn Out (01/12/2024)

Boy, I really just don’t have anything to talk about today.

Normally I can come up with something, but for whatever reason, I am just feeling a bit of burn out here to end this week. Maybe that’s the topic for today?

I was quite sick from about 12/30 to 01/03. Then eI was definitely subpar from 01/r03 to 01/06ish. So this week marked the first full week of usual activity - waking up early so I can get some work done in the garage first thing, then get ready for the day, work, be a husband and father, take care of animals, mix in some more work, relax a little bit, then go to bed. It makes for a busy day, but I like busy. However, my body and mind may be taking a bit to get back on schedule after being sick.

When I am experiencing burn out there is something that seems to really help me most and that is to get some time to myself doing something outside of my typical schedule. Something that doesn’t require talking, listening, or paying attention to the time. I think I may do some of that in the morning by taking a ride to the woods, and if they weather cooperates when I get there, going for a walk and calling it “scouting”.

What helps you when you are experiencing burn out?

As for today’s smoke, I went with a Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Mi Querida Triqui Traca No 448 from the Short Smoke Sampler. It is always a flavorful, powerful smoke in one of my favorite formats!

Take care,

-Trevor
