It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon here and, though a little later than usual, I got to squeeze in a good smoke today. I went with the Black Star Line El Milagro Sungrown Habano. These cigars are fantastic blends out of the Aganorsa factory (Agricola something something as it is now known). This blend is spicy first and foremost, but with a lovely balancing sweet, vanilla creaminess along with some earth and slightly tannic wood. I am a big fan of this cigar.
I had been thinking about it for a couple days now, so it was an easy choice. That got me thinking, though, about lineups. It’s not uncommon for people to have a lineup for the day or weekend or occasion. Sometimes I try to make a lineup because I have certain cigars I want to smoke.
Most of the time though, I end up not necessarily wanting something I had picked out because my tastes or mood changed. I also get a bit of paralysis by analysis when I try to think ahead at what I might want. Usually, I just grab a few cigars to choose from when I go out - knowing, most likely, which one I want to start. The next cigar is typically a crapshoot.
Do you like to pick a lineup or play it ear?
