Pulling Back the Curtain: An Intro

Pulling Back the Curtain: An Intro

I had the idea for a series of blog posts where I give a behind the scenes look at The Cigar Farm. My intent with the series is to provide some insight into the how, what, and why I do things the way I do, along with some opinion pieces. I plan to cover a variety of topics with a level of candor that I believe will provide appropriate insight without (hopefully) insulting anyone or revealing “industry secrets''. I am dubbing the series “Pulling Back the Curtain”.

The reason I am creating this series is multifaceted. First off, I am still a “baby” when it comes to entrepreneurship and I have been learning on the go. I am the owner, buyer, marketer, web designer, order picker, packager, bookkeeper, etc, etc, etc. So I thought this series could be a fun way of sharing some things I have learned and seeing how things change with time. Along with that, maybe sharing some things I have learned will help someone else out there. I guess that last sentence could have been led by “secondly”.

Thirdly, The Cigar Farm is a passion project for me and I like to talk about things I am passionate about. Including things retailers have to deal with that consumers don’t necessarily have to or things they may not even think about or realize. Maybe the things I talk about will explain trends you’ve seen or comments you’ve heard and may help make you a more educator consumer.

At the end of the day, I want to create something that may be of value to someone.

Originally I was going to limit the series to a set number of posts, but the more I thought about it, the less I liked that idea. Things are ever changing and I am always learning new things - and I want to be revealing. So for now, I plan to leave this series open ended. I also don’t have an order/schedule, though I do plan for the first several posts to be chronological to some degree.

Also, I may open up a newsletter for signup for these and other blog posts so that you can be notified via email when a new post is on the site.

Lastly, please utilize the comments below to let me know if there is anything that you would like to know about me, the company, the industry, etc, etc and I will make sure (if possible) to include it somewhere along the way!

Take care,

-Trevor
