Cigar Review: Cavalier Geneve Cigars White Series Elegantes

It has been a minute since I did a review and this weekend felt like a good time to start up again. I grabbed a Cavalier Geneve Cigars White Series Elegantes - the flagship brand of Cavalier Geneve. It seemed like a perfect choice for this warm, sunny July 4th!

This cigar sports a white band and the notable gold leaf diamond. I always love the presentation of Cavalier Geneve cigars. The wrapper is veiny, medium brown, and has a fair amount of molting. Prelight this cigar smells of sweet tobacco and baking spice and the cold draw shows subtle cream and grains.

First light brings about full flavored, medium bodied smoke with notes of toast, creamy vanilla, and a touch of bitter nuttiness. The retrohale brings in some bright citrus and amplifies the vanilla. A half inch in and it's all toast and vanilla and is performing perfectly. Closing out the first third the profile is turning towards a toasty caramel and citrus. The retrohale still has some citrus but it is showing a bit of cacao as well. Hitting the halfway point the performance has been flawless. The profile is starting to take on a bit of earthiness and the nuttiness from the beginning is returning. Coming to an end at just over an hour the flavor profile and performance remained consistent to the end.

Overall Experience

I am a big fan of this blend from Cavalier Geneve. It is flavorful, without being overwhelming or burning out the palate, and the profile is a beautiful balance of sweet and savory with the combination of vanilla, caramel, citrus, buttiness, toast, and earthiness. This is one of those cigars that is approachable for every level of smoker.

Have you smoked this one? Let me know your thoughts!

This is one of my favorite Connecticut blends. Hundred percent on point with the great balance between sweet and savory.
